Welcome to Caladesi PWDs. The Portuguese Water Dogs are a very unusual breed. They are independent, yet thrive on attention. They have hair (not fur) and they have two different coats, curly and wavy. They are eager to learn and willing to please. They require your time, your training and your friendship. They are a true working dog.
Caladesi’s PWDs are AKC show dogs. All of our dogs are Champions or on their way to be Champions. Caladesi is part of the PWDCA, the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America. The PWDCA guidelines for the breed, health, and temperament are all followed by Caladesi. For more information on this wonderful breed see www.PWDCA.org.
Caladesi’s breeding practices are regulated by the PWDCA. We here only produce the best possible puppies for the best home. All breeding’s, done once a year, are done with AKC Champions. Health and temperament are always the top reasons for breeding. All our produced puppies were bred for showing possibilities, however we have many show dogs in Pet homes. Show dogs are Pets with a job.
